Advanced Band Audition Requirements-
April 21, 2010 3:30-5:30PM
Students considering auditioning for the Christ the King Advanced Band must have at least 1 year of experience playing one of the following instruments:
Woodwind: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, alto, tenor or baritone saxophone, piccolo, bass clarinet, alto clarinet
Brass: Trumpet, trombone, tuba, baritone horn, French horn
Percussion: Snare, bass drum, mallets
Woodwind and brass students must be prepared to play the following for their Advanced Band audition:
1. One major scale in any key at any speed
2. A short example of a piece of music currently being studied.
Percussion students must be prepared to play the following:
1. One major scale in any key on the bells/xylophone
2. A short example of a piece of music currently being studied on the snare drum.
In addition, a short piece of music for sight-reading purposes will be given to the students on the day of the audition.
Percussion instruments will be provided, but you must provide your own woodwind or brass instrument. It is recommended that you borrow one from your school that day if you do not own one.
AUDITIONS WILL TAKE PLACE ON April 21, 2010 FROM
3:30 TO 5:30 PM IN THE MUSIC RESOURCE CENTER
